Family-owned

McNae Group is a family-owned business that is one of the larger electrical contracting businesses in Palmerston North with 100% local ownership. Because we're local, well recognised and trusted we do more solar installations in the wider Manawatū than any other company

We live by our promise to guarantee our work and products. And that's not just for solar—that goes for all electrical work carried out by McNae Group.

WE'RE LOCAL

We live and work locally and you'll likely bump into one of us at the supermarket checkout or picking up our kids after school. We're a one-stop-shop based in the Manawatū. We have expertise, knowledge, and experience. This means we can do anything—from changing a light bulb to installing the largest commercial solar systems.

Our principles

We act professionally at all times, in accordance with laws and regulations.
We care deeply about the health and safety of our people and strive to minimise any health, safety and environmental impacts on our customers and communities.

We put our energy into things that really matter by:

  • Adding value to the resources that come under our control.

  • Being inclusive, encouraging diversity and expression of ideas and opinions (in line with our Commitments and Behaviours)

  • Creating value for our stakeholders

  • Ensuring the sustainability of our business

  • Taking care of the environment by looking after our natural and shared resources

  • Being a good neighbour in the communities where we operate

We’re authentic. We make sound decisions knowing they’ll be subject to scrutiny.

Our Standard Process

Wonder what our process is for getting solar installed at your place?

Step 1 We provide a proposal based on information supplied to us by you.

Step 2 You confirm that you wish to proceed.   We organise a site visit for us to do an assessment of your electrical system and roof.

Step 3 We finalise the price.  Once the contract is signed, we require a 10% deposit to progress.

Step 4 We apply for Network company approval, and a meter change from your electricity retailer.

Step 5 We secure the equipment, a 50% deposit is paid.

Step 6 We install, test and commission your system!  Including an electrical inspection.

Step 7 We provide full documentation and send the final invoice.
